Engaging Children and Youth in Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience Building

23 November, 2021

Children and youth represent half of the world’s population and are the ones who will benefit most from reducing the risk and impact of disasters, mitigating climate change, and achieving the global Sustainable Development Goals. Engaging with all children and youth as key stakeholders and contributors in difficult times is complex, but essential. More must be done to support and engage children and youth worldwide in disaster risk reduction (DRR). The Global Alliance for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience in the Education Sector (GADRRRES) organised a webinar on the engagement of children and youth in DRR and resilience building, with the aim to advocate for the need to take action to involve children and youth in all stages of disaster risk and risk management by listening to young people themselves.

Please kindly note that the event was recorded and the recording is available on the GADRRRES YouTube Channel.
