Background

On 12 June 2025, the Geneva Global Hub for Education in Emergencies will launch its third-ever Flagship Report, Acting Ahead to Protect Education Investments: Why the need for proactive approaches to crises is more urgent than ever. The report looks at how anticipatory approaches are more important than ever for the humanitarian sector amid current funding cuts, as well as the need to better integrate education in this work.

To support the launch of the report, the EiE Hub has developed the following social media kit with suggested posts, graphics and links. We highly appreciate any support in promoting the report through your channels, both before and after the launch. 📘Amid unprecedented funding cuts, #ActingAhead is more important than ever to protect the right to education for millions of children and youth in emergencies.

🚨 With climate shocks, fragility and conflicts increasingly compounding crises, some 234 children in crisis contexts were in need of quality education in early 2025 alone.

➡️ A new report from the Geneva Global Hub for Education in Emergencies sets out how donors, aid actors and others can better prepare for crisis to maximise impact from increasingly scarce funding. #EiE

📘#ActingAhead of crises can save lives, reduce costs and spend scarce resources more effectively. Most importantly, it allows children to remain in schools when hazards strike.

🚨 The UN estimates that every US$1 invested in risk reduction and prevention can save up to US$15 in post-disaster recovery. Despite this, funds for acting ahead remain hugely limited, with only 1% of humanitarian funding allocated to risk reducation. Education is among the most neglected sectors.
