The United Nations International Day to Protect Education from Attack, established by a unanimous resolution of the UN General Assembly, was adopted on 28 May 2020 during its 74th session. This landmark resolution, which calls on states to protect students, teachers, and educational institutions, was initially presented by the State of Qatar and co-sponsored by 62 Member States.
This year, 9 September will mark the Seventh United Nations International Day to Protect Education from Attack. This year’s global observance will take place under the theme, “Can education survive attack? The resilience of human communities”.
