29 May 2021 marked the sixth anniversary of the Safe Schools Declaration, an international political commitment to protect education in armed conflict. Endorsing the Declaration are 109 countries, most recently Algeria, Mexico and Timor-Leste. The Geneva Global Hub for Education in Emergencies co-hosted the virtual Safe Schools Declaration event on 28 May.
